Daniel R. Sheehan
Chairman of the Board
Daniel R. Sheehan, Chairman of the Board, also serves as Chairman and CEO of the Bank’s parent, Professional Holding Corp (OTC: PFHD) and was a founding board member upon formation and organization of the institution in September 2008. Over the course of Mr. Sheehan’s career, he has been directly involved in the investment and deployment of over $10 billion of institutional real estate capital throughout the U.S. while holding various positions in national investment banks and intermediary finance institutions. His experience ranges throughout the capital structure with an emphasis on equity and structured finance transactions within the capital markets across several real estate property types and related credit/capital products, in addition to development and operating companies. Mr. Sheehan received his B.S. from the University of Florida and his M.B.A. from the University of Miami.
Leslie Adler, CPA
Leslie Adler is a partner with Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre, Taraboulos & Co., his experience is in small business accounting, consulting, tax and has been in the practice of public accounting for 35 years. He is also involved in a number of charitable organizations in addition to serving on some of those boards. Prior to joining KSDT, Leslie was a partner at Binstock, Rubin, Adler, Aldecoa and Ellzey. He is also chairman of the Bank's Audit Committee. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of CPA's (FICPA) and Birthright Israel. Mr. Adler holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Miami.
Roland DiGasbarro was appointed as a director of the Bank by the Bank Board on February 20, 2014 and has served as a director of the Company since its inception. Roland DiGasbarro is the principal and founder of Windsor Capital Corporation. Windsor Capital Corporation is a privately held real estate investment and development firm. Since the Company’s founding in 2003, Windsor Capital has invested in real estate projects throughout North America valued in excess of $3 billion. Windsor Capital and affiliated companies invest selectively in all major real estate asset classes and in corporate private equity transactions. The Company currently owns a diverse commercial portfolio of prime income producing assets as well as significant undeveloped tracts of land throughout North America. Prior to founding Windsor Capital Corporation, Mr. DiGasbarro was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers Holdings in New York. Mr. DiGasbarro graduated with a BBA and MBA from The Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Canada.
Carlos brings over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, both in the private and public sectors. He has occupied senior leadership positions in the areas of community, commercial and investment banking, securities brokerage, and asset management, as well as with government and regulatory bodies. He has a track record of executing turnarounds and growing businesses. He worked for 14 years at Banco Santander, managing a mid-sized bank, and most recently as a senior ranking executive and board member of Santander Bank, N.A. (top-25 U.S. bank) and Santander Holdings USA, Inc. He was the former chairman of a $2 billion multi-fund family and a $3 billion major public pension fund system. Mr. Garcia was also a former chairman, president and CEO of the Government Development Bank for PR. He graduated with a dual degree from the Wharton School and the College of Arts & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the executive chairman of Caribbean Financial Group, and a member of the board of directors of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts & Rhode Island and the Hyde Square Task Force.
Jon L. Gorney
Jon L. Gorney joined the Board of Directors in June 2017. In addition to his board seat Jon will serve as Chairman of the IT & Operations Committee. Gorney’s career spans 37 years in the financial services industry, 35 of which were spent with National City Corporation. Gorney held numerous roles at National City. including leading the Corporate Operations and Information Services organization for 18 years. In this capacity, Gorney’s responsibilities included providing corporate-wide leadership for all acquisitions and integrations and his overall responsibilities included the leadership of over 6,000 people with an operating budget of $900 million. During his tenure, assets of National City grew by over $100 billion requiring significant re-engineering of the technology architecture, infrastructure, and application systems. Gorney also served as Chairman and CEO of National Processing Company (NPC) of which National City was a large majority shareholder. NPC was a publicly traded company on the NYSE and the second largest merchant card processor in the industry. He was successful in transforming the company, returning it to profitability and ultimately positioning the sale of the company for $1.4 billion. Gorney joined PNC Financial Services (NYSE: PNC) through the acquisition of National City in December 2008. He co-chaired the company-wide integration which is one of the largest ever accomplished in the industry. Gorney was a member of the executive and management committees at both National City and PNC. He retired from PNC in June 2010. Past board appointments include US Region Board of Directors for Master Card International, Electronic Payment Systems Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Chairman of NPC Board of Directors. Gorney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Dayton.
Herbert Martens is Managing Partner of Advent Associates, LLC, where he actively invests in start-ups as well as acquisitions. Mr. Martens has a long career in banking, most recently serving as President and CEO of National City Bank, Florida. Previously, he was President and CEO of NatCity Investments and Executive Vice President of National City’s wealth management businesses including personal trust, wealth management and private banking. Prior to National City, Mr. Martens was Executive Vice President of Prescott Ball & Turben and CEO of Raffensberger, Hughes, both investment banking and brokerage firms. Mr. Martens received a B.S. in finance and a M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Lawrence Schimmel
Dr. Lawrence Schimmel is the founding Chairman of Professional Bank. Presently, he is Chairman and CEO of Qualmetrix, a healthcare analytics company headquartered in South Florida. Dr. Schimmel is also the managing partner of Allied Health Advisors, LLC a boutique healthcare consulting company in Miami. Dr. Schimmel is a serial medical-related business entrepreneur having been Co-founder and CEO of Allied Health Group, a national medical management company, and Florida Specialty Network. He was the Founding Chairman and served on the Board of Directors of Megabank and subsequently served on the Board of Directors of Executive National Bank. Dr. Schimmel practiced General and Vascular Surgery in the Miami community for 18 years. He received his B.A. from Rutgers College and his M.D. from New Jersey College of Medicine.
Anton V. Schutz
Anton has been in the investment and risk management business since 1986, focusing on investment and portfolio management. He founded Mendon Capital in 1996 with a long/short and event-driven investment strategy focused exclusively on the financial services sector. Previously, he worked at RBC Dain Rauscher with an institutional sales trading role in the financial institutions group. Anton also spent 10 years at Chase Manhattan Bank, where he structured investment products utilizing hedge funds and also developed and applied financial risk strategies. Anton is often interviewed regarding his expertise in the financial services sector. He appears regularly as a guest on CNBC and Bloomberg, and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, Financial Times, Business Week, Investors’ Business Daily, SmartMoney and others. Anton obtained an M.B.A. from Fordham University in 1988 and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1986. Presently, Mr. Schutz is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Mendon Capital Advisors Corp.
Abel L. Iglesias
President & Chief Executive Officer
As a proven executive, he has over 30 years of banking experience in the South Florida Market, most recently as President and C.E.O. of JGB Bank, N.A. Prior to his post at JGB, Mr. Iglesias was the Senior Executive Vice-President of Bank United FSB where he oversaw the commercial, corporate, commercial real-estate and small business banking areas. He was directly responsible for the day to day management of the Commercial Banking division and its lending groups for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. In 1997 through 2003 he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for the South Florida region of Colonial Bank. Mr. Iglesias also worked for Eastern National Bank and the Bank of Miami where he began his banking career in 1980. Mr. Iglesias serves on the Board of Directors for Miami-Dade College’s Center for Financial Training. He’s the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Friends of WLRN 91.3 FM, a former board member of the Latin Builder’s Association and former board member for the City of Coral Gables’ Historic Preservation Board. Mr. Iglesias holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Business Administration from Barry University.
